Healthy Smoothie Recipes For Weight Loss
The idea of healthy smoothie recipes for weight loss has become very popular as they are so quick and easy to prepare in minutes and the nutritional value of the fresh food is very good – high in vitamins, fibre and low in fat and sugar.
When preparing a healthy smoothie recipe for weight loss remember to use good quality fresh fruits and vegetables and don’t be afraid to add other fruits and vegetables that you like.
Healthy Spinach Smoothie
1 cup of fresh spinach
3 frozen strawberries
1/4 cup of blueberries either fresh or frozen
1 small banana
1/2 cup of water
1/2 cup of light soy milk
Place all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth.
All Green Smoothie
- 1 banana, sliced into small pieces
- 1 cup of grapes
- 6 ounces of low fat vanilla yogurt
- 1/2 green apple, remove core but leave skin on, chopped
- 1 1/2 cups fresh spinach leaves
Place all ingredients in blender and blend a few minutes until to smooth and serve immediately.
Peach and Mango Smoothie
- 1 peach, skinned and sliced
- 1 mango, peeled and diced into small pieces
- 1/2 cup vanilla soy milk or low fat milk
- 1/2 cup orange juice, or as required
Blend all ingredients until smooth and serve immediately.
Banana and Strawberry Smoothie
This quick and healthy smoothie recipe is excellent for anyone at any time, and can be changed easily to accommodate individuals taste preferences.
- 1 banana
- 5 strawberries, hulled
- 1 cup cold low fat or skim milk
Place all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth. You can add a couple of ice cubes if you wish and serve immediately.
Variations which work well when added to the basic recipe for extra taste:
- I have also added a couple of Mint leaves which gives a lovely taste as well.
- Milk can be replaced with Yoghurt or you can use half milk and half yoghurt, preferably use low fat.
- Add ½ pear with the skin on.
- Add 1/2 to 1 teaspoon of Psylliom Husks or LSL powder for added fibre
- If you like a sweeter taste add a teaspoon of Honey or
- Substitute the milk for Orange Juice.
- If you feel your smoothie is to thick just add some water.
